Biography

Law is a second career for Anthony Roach, who has over eight years experience in private practice. He graduated in 1994 from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, earning a Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in history. Upon graduation, Anthony Roach was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy.

As a commissioned officer, Anthony Roach served with the engineering department onboard the USS Duluth (LPD 6). He qualified as an Engineering Officer of the Watch and as a Surface Warfare Officer. He was awarded two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

After completing active duty naval service, Anthony Roach attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, AAR SW FOR Web crp2California. Thomas Jefferson School of Law is an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school. While in law school, Anthony Roach's advocacy skills were recognized when he was awarded the International Academy of Trial Lawyers 2000 Student Advocacy Award. In addition to the standard curriculum, he took elective courses in the specialized areas of California Secured Land Transactions, California Real Estate Practice, Pretrial Litigation, and Trial Advocacy, which emphasized the practical aspects of the practice of law. Anthony Roach graduated in 2001 with a Juris Doctorate.

Anthony Roach spent four years gaining useful experience while working as a law clerk and paralegal for various civil attorneys in Southern California. His employment consisted of drafting pleadings, motions and oppositions to motions, and research memoranda in civil matters. The Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles was so impressed with his motion work, that he was asked to write an article about the implementation of California's recently amended statute of limitations for personal injury. During this time, Anthony Roach also drafted three winning appellate briefs for cases pending in the Second District Court of Appeal and a winning brief for a case pending in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court.

In 2005, Anthony Roach opened his own private practice. During the past eight years, he has handled litigation in real estate matters to clear and quiet title, civil appeals, prosecution and defense of wage and hour disputes, defense of small business owners in litigation, wrongful termination, paternity and dissolution actions, and criminal defense of felony and misdemeanor cases.
